Seattle, Portland & Eugene | Merrill Wright Mainstage Theater
Following 3 successful years of The A.W.A.R.D. Show! in NYC at Joyce SoHo, The Joyce Theater invited a few of their national peers including OtB to host versions of the friendly dance competition in their respective regions. Twelve artists from the Northwest were selected by a national panel to present 15 minute performances at OtB and compete for a $10,000 prize. Audiences will vote on their favorite act each evening and finalists will compete on the 4th night as an independent panel (Donald Byrd, Dayna Hanson, Kara O’Toole, and Linda Shelton) teams with the audience to select the grand prize winner. Each evening will feature a post-show Q & A with moderator Tonya Lockyer.

Spin Mag reviewed us at Bumbershoot!
Aside from the musical aspect of the show, the other outlets of entertainment were where the word “intriguing” came from. The Dassdance group performed their “Fighting Water” piece in the Seattle Center’s International Fountain. Dressed in cut-up neon spandex and Nike shoes and knee-pads, the contemporary dance group hypnotized the audience with a passionate dance through the fountain’s retracting and exploding water spouts.
